About Theater4Life
Hi! My name is Crystal Brown, and I'm the founder of Theater 4 Life!
I'm also a performing artist, director, educator, coach, and I believe the performing arts are fundamental in understanding what it means to be human.
I'm on a mission to help people find their voice through creative expression.
My own love for the arts began quite young and from an early age I've always been singing, dancing, and writing creative stories for enjoyment. I started studying voice at the age of 10 and eventually studied music and voice at Trinity University. I later studied Music Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and worked as an actress and singer in London and Vienna with various artists and theater organizations.
Eventually, I entered the world of education and discovered that I love empowering artists. I've witnessed students transform against all odds, trusting their creativity and developing confidence within themselves, moving beyond their own perceived limitations. It is this work that has led me to create Theater4Life. The workshops, private coaching and enrichment sessions that I offer provide opportunities for laughter, reflection, creative thinking, and collaboration. They also naturally provide space for active practice of CASEL's Social Emotional Learning skills of self-management, self and social awareness, building relationship skills, and conflict resolution.
When we allow ourselves to simply be present and play, we connect with each other in ways that supersede bias. We connect at the soul level.
Organizations I've worked with:
Dallas Children's Theater
Galileo Summer Camp
Katherine Michiels School
Brandeis School of San Francisco
Mountainview Community College
Speechless Inc.
Celsius and Beyond
Theatre Peckham
Little Hands Theatre
VZA Jugendzentrum
